MyCart.pk is an online grocery store serving Karachi — groceries, fresh and dairy, beverages, bakery and snacks, baby and kids, personal care and home essentials, with free delivery inside the city. It is a Magento build behind Cloudflare with a custom theme.
Grocery is a different e-commerce problem to most. Basket sizes are large and item counts are high, so category navigation and add-to-cart have to be fast enough to survive a forty-item shop. The catalogue spans seven departments and dozens of sub-categories, and merchandising — bundle offers, offers of the month, daily deals — changes constantly.
Pakistan's grocery pricing adds a further wrinkle: prices fluctuate enough that the store charges the market price prevailing at delivery, so the storefront has to communicate that clearly at every step without eroding trust in the displayed price.

My role
Magento frontend developer.
- Built and customised the Magento theme, category and product templates
- Implemented merchandising blocks for bundles, monthly offers and daily deals
- Optimised the add-to-cart and checkout flow for large grocery baskets
- Handled responsive layout and storefront performance behind Cloudflare
Challenges & solutions
Forty items in one basket. A checkout flow tuned for two-item orders falls apart at grocery scale. Inline quantity controls and add-to-cart without leaving the listing kept a full weekly shop from becoming forty page loads.
Prices that move between order and delivery. Charging the prevailing market rate is normal locally but reads as a bait-and-switch if it appears only at the end, so the disclosure runs from the category page through to checkout.
